Introduction
Fall is a very special time in Southern Colorado. As the temperatures start to chill, the leaves explode in a wide array of colors and become a photographer's dream! Few places in Colorado have the diversity of fall color that Southern Colorado can boast of. This 2-day workshop will explore various locations around Huerfano and Custer Counties: the Sangre de Christo range of the Rockies, the Wet Mountains (including my 75 acres range, approximately half of which is covered in aspen) and the Scenic Highway of Legands. In addition to stunning landscapes, Huerfano and Custer Counties are home to abundant wildlife, including elk, mule deer and raptors.
As with all workshops I lead, activities will be tailored to the experience level and interests of all participants: from beginners to lifelong photographers, using digital or film cameras.
Itinerary
Each morning, we will gather 1 hour before sunrise and travel to the location for our mourning shoot, which will last until approximately 10am. We will then break for lunch and review the morning's experiences and the photographs we have all taken. After lunch we will travel to the location for our afternoon shoot, which will last until sunset.
Details
Transportation to and from Huerfano County and lodging are the responsibility of each participant; I will be happy to suggest locations for lodging at reasonable rates. We will eat lunch and possibly dinner on Saturday night as a group; the cost of meals is the responsibility of each participant.
There will be a certain amount of walking and moderate hiking, so participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing, including appropriate footwear. Since this is Colorado, where the weather can be unpredictable and change on a moment's notice, be prepared for temperature extremes.
Registration
50% deposit due at time of registration, the remainder is due 15 days prior to the workshop. Your deposit is fully refundable if cancelation is requested in writing (email is sufficient) more than 15 days prior to the workshop. Within 15 days of the workshop, the fee is refundable ONLY if I am able to fill your space with another participant.
